The therapeutic use of lemon balm (also known as Melissa) has a long tradition in European herbalism. This excellent herb has been used in the case of physical symptoms with a nervous origin, such as nervous dyspepsia associated with anxiety or depression, high blood pressure, tension headaches, flatulence and constipation. Disturbed or difficult sleep will benefit from a cup of lemon balm tea taken with the evening meal. It is a pleasant and aromatic tea, which will appeal equally to adults and children alike.
